1-6-10 Walking Dog

On Monday River got to go meet Dr. Kris Johnson at Fairhaven Vet for some further evaluation of his hips and the best plan for him. He was a total sweetheart to everyone and tolerated his exam including his sore ears being looked at like a star! The great news is he is allowed and in fact encouraged to go on walks. I had been taking it easy with him not knowing if it was ok or not and if hills were a problem. In fact the hills will help him build up rear muscle so they are a good thing. So today I took all three Rottweilers for a nice walk in the beautiful January sunshine. River enjoyed smelling all the smells and the warm sunshine on his coat. At one point he even tried rolling in the grass. As it was a bit muddy I encouraged him to move on and we kept going. On another good news note River has now slept 2 nights out of his crate accident free and very happily.
